Britney Spears doesn't dress, doesn't impress
Britney Spears is back in the news. This time, the pop singer is making headlines because of a lackluster performance during last night's MTV Video Music Awards.
YouTube has the video. In it, Spears seems to wander around the stage and forget the words to her new single. We're not qualified to critique her performance, so we'll rely on others to beat her up:
Dressed in sequined black underpants and bra, an out-of-shape Spears moved tentatively around the stage, getting totally outgrooved by her backup dancers and badly lip-syncing her way through the song whose main lyric was "Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme."
Her gyrations were hardly demure, though oddly halfhearted.
Thanks to her annus horribilis — or, more accurately, anni horribiles — she was one of the most anticipated V.M.A. performers in years. Voyeurs around the world were ready to see a fallen star back onstage. She didn’t disappoint: she was awful. Visibly nervous, she tottered around the stage, dancing tentatively and doing nothing that sounded or looked like real live singing.
Designed to drum up excitement for her upcoming album, Spears' kickoff to the Video Music Awards on Sunday night became another example of how far she has fallen. It would have been understandable if MTV's show had been crushed under the weight of the opening fiasco — yet somehow it rebounded, and even flourished.

Samo neka nastavi tako. Mnogo me podseca na Janet u smislu da se i Xtina trudi da joj svaki album bude tematski drugaciji i pokrene citav niz pitanja...to mi je super!
