UEFA extend Italian deadline
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has been given an extra day to submit its entries for the Champions League and UEFA Cup.
The deadline was due to expire on Tuesday but with verdicts on the appeals in the Italian match-fixing affair not due until Wednesday the FIGC can now submit its entries on Wednesday.
A statement on Tuesday released by UEFA read: "UEFA has today (Tuesday) received a letter from the Italian FA (FIGC), in which the association asks UEFA for an extraordinary extension of one day to the deadline of 25 July 2006, set by UEFA, for the submission of the names of Italian clubs eligible to participate in European club competitions.
"After having carefully analysed the request, UEFA's Emergency Panel decided to grant the requested extraordinary extension of the deadline. The revised deadline is therefore Wednesday 26 July 2006."
The statement continued: "The list of names of Italian clubs is required by European football's governing body in order to complete the preparations and seedings for the draws of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round and UEFA Cup second qualifying round.

And finally -Milan made to wait by UEFA
UEFA have delayed a decision on whether to allow AC Milan to play in the coming season's Champions League until August 2.
A UEFA spokesman said Carlo Ancelotti's team will enter the draw for the Champions League in Nyon on Friday on a "provisional basis" ahead of a final decision by the emergency panel of European football's governing body next week.
The Rossoneri were one of the four leading Italian clubs involved in the recent match-fixing scandal in Serie A.
On Tuesday evening an appeal court decided that Milan's 44-point deduction from their total last season should be reduced to 30 points, allowing them a chance to play in the third qualifying round of the Champions League.
The emergency panel, chaired by UEFA president Lennart Johansson, met on Thursday morning after the Italian football federation (FIGC) on Wednesday entered their list of clubs to compete in European competitions in the 2006/07 season.
The FIGC have entered Inter Milan, Roma, AC and Chievo as representatives for the Champions League next season.
"As far as the position of AC Milan is concerned, the panel took note of a report submitted by the UEFA chief disciplinary inspector on the question of whether it would be appropriate, due to the particular circumstances, to admit AC Milan to the 2006/07 UEFA club competitions," read a statement from UEFA.
"Following this report, the emergency panel has decided to further examine whether to admit AC Milan to the 2006/07 UEFA club competitions.
"AC Milan and the FIGC will have the possibility to submit their observations in this respect to UEFA.
"The decision which will be taken by August 2 is subject to appeal to CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport)."
Juventus and Fiorentina, who finished first and fourth in Italy's top flight last term and would have taken part in Europe's elite club tournament, were sanctioned for their roles in the scandal along with Milan and Lazio, who finished second and sixth respectively.
Inter were awarded the 2005/06 title by the FIGC despite finishing third in the standings behind Juve and Milan.
