Jelena said: "It was raining the whole time, like spitting a little bit, and the balls were very, very heavy. It was different conditions than what we are used to, but we still had to play. I had to be very focused, and especially I didn't know my opponent that well. I didn't know the way she plays.
"[Carla] has come a long way from the qualifying. Getting into quarterfinals is great achievement for her, so I had to be really ready and really focused out there. I wanted to do my job the best that I could, so I'm happy to get to the semifinals...
"She hits a very strong topspin, you know. It's a typical Spanish game. Jelena, who has been plagued by pain her right arm since the 2nd round, flew to Serbia on Sunday for treatment, and flew back to Paris on Monday. Jelena said: "I had some treatments and I feel a lot better. Today I was fine. I didn't have problems with my arm, for which I was very, very pleased."

Ana will play Jelena in the semifinals on Thursday. Jelena has now won 9 consecutive matches, all on red clay. She is 13-2 for the entire clay court season, and has a 33-9 match record for the year (79%). But Ana, who is 25-6 for the year (81%) and 8-2 during the clay court season, leads Jelena 5-1 in career matches, although all of their meetings except the first have been close. They have played on clay only once before, in the 2007 Amelia Island quarterfinals, when Ana won, 7-5, 6-3.

About playing Jelena, Ana said: "We played many times before, and we always have touch matches. I think we played only once on green clay, and never at a Grand Slam... She's a tough opponent and she defends really well. I try to step in and be aggressive and play my game. Every match is a new match, a new experience, and I just have to keep playing like I played so far."

About playing Ana, Jelena said: "She plays a different game. For me, it has been hard to follow. It's hard to read what she's going to hit, because she likes to play short points. She just goes for broke most of the time.
"I had troubles in the past against her, but I don't think we played on clay many times. So it's a different game and it's different circumstances, so I think it will be a completely different match. So we will see how it will go this time."

Meni je ipak utisak dana Gulbis. Mislim da smo danas dobili jednog potencijalno vrhunskog i verovatno najtalentovanijeg mladog igrača.
Kako li će tek igrati na bržim podlogama sa onakvim servisom i eksplozivnošću, kad je već na šljaci odličan.
Samo je pitanje koliko je mentalno jak, to bi jedino moglo biti ograničavajući faktor.

A Novak polako počinje da ulazi u razne statističke rubrike istorije tenisa, pa je ovom pobedom ušao u peto polufinale GS za redom, što su pre njega jedino uspeli Fedex, Edberg i Becker.
I to sve sa 21-om godinom

Elem - Ana ima odlican rezultat protiv nje (5-1, ako se dobro secam), a jedared ju je i na sljaci pobedila.

Cudo jedno kako u pocetku niko od nas nije ni razmatrao Kuznjecovu.

Elem - Ana ima odlican rezultat protiv nje (5-1, ako se dobro secam), a jedared ju je i na sljaci pobedila.

Ana je Kuzi Lezi pobedila dva puta na sljaci: u finalu Berlina 2007. i 1/4 finalu Roland Garrosa 2007.

Po meni ni Ana ni Jelena nisu sasvim dorasle tom mestu, ali šta ćemo sad, neće sigurno ostati upražnjeno i čekati dostizanje određenog kvaliteta igre dostojnog prethodnica, za promociju.

jel mi se ovo samo pricinjava ili je ovo izjavila kako bi se unapred ogradila od poraza u polufinalu? ..pa da posle ispadne "bila sam povredjena, videli ste, lekari na terenu su dali sve od sebe.. kao i ja.. povreda me je sprecila blablablitrucj.."

Sto se tice meca Safine i Dementieve, primetio sam da obe forsiraju dijagonale, posebno Dementieva. Paralele igraju mnogo slabije.

Jelena je pobedjivala Safinu na sljaci, ali ovo je druga Safina. Medjutim, Dementieva nije igrala dovoljno dobre paralele niti je Safinu drzala na osnovnoj liniji. Ja mislim da Jelena ima problem samo sa Anom, ona je Enanova naslednica od koje se izgleda plasi. Mislim da JJ mora Anu da ubaci u trecu brzinu i da joj ne da predaha.
