Pop star Britney Spears is facing plagiarism charges for "ripping off" the lyrics of her latest single 'Hold It Against Me' and may have to face a multi-million dollar lawsuit, according to reports.

The much awaited track from her first album in two years had debuted at number one on the music charts and now the rock band 'Bellamy Brothers' are claiming that the lyrics are a copy of their hit of the same name, reported Daily Star online.

The American rockers claim the 29-year-old singer's track is too close to their own 1979 hit which topped the charts in six countries, and David and Howard Bellamy are set to met with lawyers. "Howard and I have no personal beef with Britney. She's a talented gal. But professionally we feel completely ripped off," said 60-year-old David.

"We will without doubt take the appropriate legal action if our attorneys agree we've been ripped off," he added.
