I've managed to get - Advanced 2a CEF Level C1a in English language - with never actually learning english, lol. Ok, a few times i did, before the exams in elementary school etc.
I guess I'm prone to unconcious learning - movies, music & such taught me english.
I even worked as a translator for cabel television at one time.
..
So, what I'm trying to say - my mental exercises were probably large amounts of hiphop music i used to listen as a kid.. Public Enemy taught me english ,)
..
Besides - English language now - really is the same thing as Latin in the time of the Roman empire. Everybody understands a little, at least.
..
This is a perfect example - English was even used in South Africa, in the World Cup finals - to announce to the multiethnic viewers that Spain and Holland will be playing.
Thats just hilarious to me.
..
pS. although i might be prone to subliminal learning, consciously i hate (and avoide) using apostrophes, as mght be noticable ,)
..
ppS. One thing killed me - my sister once read a book online, in english, and found one passage too complicated for her. She then used Google translate to translate the entire passage.
I NEVER thought of that when I worked as a translater. But judging by the translations i read on the TV - many other people have, and they dont find it necessery to correct the errors.
Anyway, i should've used it - and just correct the errors. Wasted a lot of time there.
