Evo opisa:
The International Resource Network (IRN) was created to connect researchers from both academic and community bases in areas related to diverse sexualities and genders. Until the creation of the IRN, people interested in approaching sexual rights and human rights from the perspective of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer studies or in surveying the research on particular LGBTQ issues around the globe have had no central directory listing. People conducting research on LGBTQ themes and subjects have no central place to put out queries for documentary materials, make contact with others engaged in similar work, or find opportunities to develop comparative or collaborative projects. Though there are regional sexuality centers and relevant NGOs and independent scholars in almost every country, there is no central international clearinghouse with contact information, summaries of holdings and work, web links to regional projects, archival information, and mechanisms for collaborative opportunities on a large, systematic scale. The International Resource Network was established to be such a venue, and to foster this kind of international exchange.
